Candied fruit is a food product obtained from fruits, fresh berries, citrus peels, carrots, pumpkins or nuts that have been pre-cooked in concentrated sugar syrup. To maintain their shape, some fruits and berries are soaked in water before cooking. Then they are heat treated, after which the candied fruits are additionally rolled in sugar and dried well in the oven.
In order to avoid humidification of finished candied fruits, it is recommended to store them hermetically in glass containers, for example, in glass jars, tightly closed with lids or cellophane. Each type of candied fruit can be stored separately, or different fruits and berries can be mixed to create a bright and attractive set for the consumer. When creating an assortment of candied fruits, differently colored fruits are selected.
Currently, a huge assortment of different types of candied fruits is presented on the food market, which are made from fruits and berries growing in our region, as well as from more exotic fruits.
