Ingredients
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
- 2 large eggs, room temperature
- 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 18–20 Halloween Oreos (with orange filling)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone baking mats.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
- In a large bowl, beat softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy (2-3 minutes). Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each. Stir in vanilla extract.
- Gradually mix dry ingredients into wet mixture until just combined. Fold in chocolate chips with a spatula. If dough is sticky, chill for 15 minutes.
- Scoop about 2 tablespoons of dough, flatten gently, place a Halloween Oreo in the center, and wrap dough around it, sealing edges. Roll gently to form a ball. Place on baking sheet, spacing about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 13-15 minutes, until edges are golden and tops look set. Cookies may seem soft; they will firm up as they cool.
- Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to wire racks.
