Description

A weeknight lifesaver featuring tender pork chops smothered in a rich, creamy mushroom sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 bone-in or boneless pork chops (1 inch thick)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 8 ounces white button or cremini mushrooms, sliced thick
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme (optional)

Instructions

  1. Let the pork chops sit at room temperature for 15 minutes before cooking. Season with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Brown the pork chops on each side until golden.
  3. Remove the pork chops and set aside. In the same skillet, add the mushrooms and cook until browned.
  4. Add minced garlic and cook until fragrant, then pour in the heavy cream and thyme, scraping up brown bits.
  5. Return pork chops to the skillet, cover, and let them simmer in the sauce for a few minutes to finish cooking.

Notes

Serve with creamy mashed potatoes, steamed rice, or buttered noodles for the best flavor combination.
